Those who are drawn to the rakish styling and flowing curves of Italian-built yachts will find much to admire in the Azimut 70 SeaJet. With her aggressive profile, sweptback windshield, and distinctive elliptical side windows, the SeaJet seemed light years ahead of her U.S. counterparts in the luxury motor yacht market. Built on a high-performace deep-V hull with prop pockets, the Azimut 70's engine room is aft--an unusual configuration in a yacht this size--where V-drives are used to deliver the power. The SeaJet's gorgeous three-stateroom, galley-up interior is a rich blend of lacquered cherry woodwork, designer fabrics, and custom-crafted hardware throughout. The extended flybridge shelters the aft deck where a table seats eight, and a transom garage (with a winch) houses a PWC. The flybridge is loaded with amenities including a big curved settee, sunbathing area, barbecue, and a retractable dinghy davit. Standard features include a deck access door at the lower helm, a well-arranged engine room, crew quarters forward, and a bow thruster. A superb performer with twin V-drive, 1150hp MTU's, the 70 SeaJet will cruise at a steady 24 knots and reach a top speed of 28-29 knots. A good seller, about 40 were built.
