You are from US and you like online gambling. However, everything changes once a certain bill has been passed. Gambling online is now more difficult because of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). A US player may actually find it nearly hopeless to find an online gambling site that really allows you to play and fit your choice. This is a situation other US online gamblers have found themselves in. However, the positive reality is that US players are allowed on some online gambling sites. Searching aggressively and proficiently is all you have to do.

What's the Reason?

US players are not accepted on several gambling sites in the first place and it is primarily because of the UIGEA. It was originally the Online Gambling Ban Bill which, as its name suggest, permanently bans online gambling in the US. There was never a public appeal made about it through the ratification process by those who gamble online and it was not ever made clear as to why. It was at last, accepted and presently being implemented as the UIGEA.

For a lot of online casinos that particularly rely a lot on its shareholders, the UIGEA spelled death. If it will really actually happen is yet doubtful, and UIGEA's concrete implementation has not been realized yet. The shareholders are quickly pulling out their shares from the online casinos because it places UIGEA in a rather confusing state, and consequently, triggering capital lose and permanent shutting down of online casinos.

Issue

The issue is whether or not gambling is still allowed in the US. In some states, online gambling is not prohibited. Some, however, has prohibited its citizens from online gambling. Around 14 states currently prohibits online gambling. Online casino investors are pulling out and this is the actual explanation why the online gambling seems to be stagnant at the moment. This has rendered the whole industry inoperative and placed online gambling sites in danger. It is not helpful as well when there's doubt about the issue in any way.

Also, some gambling sites have taken upon themselves to prevent US players from registering in their online gambling site. Though there are a variety of reasons for this, people think it has much to do with the UIGEA.

What's the Application

Only a small number of online casinos or online poker sites, like what was mentioned, offer to the US players their services. A great deal amount of trouble was believed to have been caused by the UIGEA's usage in real life. Actually the law being not yet really enforced caused the trouble.

But in fairness to the UIGEA, it has forced a lot of online casinos to enforce stringent measures on the registration of its players. For minors to be able to register is now close to impossible. The registration of fake accounts is also monitored more strictly. Steps are also taken by online casinos to make sure that they have real and legitimate clients.
